	Catalyst handling in refineries, as carried out nowadays, does not have a very long tradition in Europe. It was only towards the end of the seventies that this method originating in the U.S. was established in Europe as a response to increasing quality demands on petroleum products and the use of catalysts. • Between 2016 and 2018 CatConsult provided successfully loading and expertise services for several extensive catalyst loadings on large-scale units at Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). Further assignments for KNPC refineries will follow shortly.

• In upcoming period CatConsult will be assigned again to assist catalyst turnaround (T/A) projects in planning and realization. T/A are taking place in European refineries.

Typical scope of CatConsult activities taken over in turnarounds:

1. Support in the preparation of the technical inquiry documents for the purchase department
2. Analyzing of technical offer for catalyst handling from subcontractor
3. Logistic planning during shut down period
4. Time planning
5. Safety induction subcontractor
6. Catalyst loading supervision and reactor expertise
7. Project management and follow up time schedule during shut down
8. Projekt-Reporting
